When: Thursday, April 28th at Old World Deli (341 SW 2nd Ave.), Corvallis, 6pm – 8pm
Please join Marys River Watershed Council and friends for a lively discussion about the lost creeks of Corvallis!
Grab a bite to eat and listen to three knowledgeable presenters who can help us learn more about the water flowing beneath our homes, buildings and streets.
- Douglas Sackinger, GIS manager for Benton County – Dixon Creek will be used as the example of how Douglas began his search for lost creeks and how he went about mapping them.
- Phil Sollins – OSU Professor emeritus of soil science will illustrate how water flows through urban soils and discuss the potential impact on creeks when they are filled with soil to support our built environment.
- Dave Eckert will share watershed maps that depict historic corridors, tributaries and watershed boundaries. From where you live, work, learn or play, use these maps to discover more about the creeks flowing beneath our city.
